Who I Am.

My name is Jim Bushart, and I am the Missouri-licensed public adjuster you will speak to when you call.  I have been adjusting claims for insured Missouri businesses and homeowners since 2012. Before that, I was a command-level paralegal in the U.S. Air Force, a government claims examiner, and a building inspector/code enforcer.  Additionally, I am a Senior Claim Law Associate and a member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA).

What I Do.

I investigate insurance claims for the policyholder and in doing so, I follow the truth, and I place myself at its service.  This is what both sides owe to every insurance claim.

Whether it’s fire, water, wind, hail, or any other type of loss, I can help you with the complex and confusing process of dealing with your insurance company and getting the compensation you deserve, mainly when your claim has been denied or underpaid, including denied claims that used reports from engineers to support the denials. 

I reopen closed claims that were denied or underpaid, turning amounts from zero or only a few hundred dollars into final payments of hundreds of thousands of dollars after thoroughly investigating all the facts and using correct and compelling interpretations of policy coverage language. 

I have also reviewed claims and informed policyholders when the decisions made by their insurance company were correct and reasonable, and I will explain to them why.  Sometimes, but not always, insurance companies get it right.  When they do, I’ll tell you.

My years of successful experience, education, and training provide me with the knowledge and skills to correctly interpret and apply insurance policy language and requirements to damaged Missouri private and commercial structures.

Rather than simply settling on a “middle ground” compromise between two estimates, I have developed and used a technique that is unique among public adjusters: one that results in full payments that address the full cost of restoring damaged property to its pre-damaged condition, instead of lowballed or “ballpark” estimations made by insurance adjusters.

 

It is essential to know that not every insurance claim requires hiring a public adjuster; however, when unfair treatment by your insurance carrier is strongly suspected or confirmed and when your claim is complicated to present correctly, I can help you.
